What MyEdBC is
MyEducation BC (MyEdBC) is the province's student information system, used by SD43 and most BC districts. For families it is the online portal where report cards, attendance, and your child's school records live. Many SD43 schools no longer send paper report cards, so this portal is where reporting happens.
Where to log in, and the address trap
The login is myeducation.gov.bc.ca. Nothing else is the login: myeducationbc.info is the province's help and news site, and most SD43 school websites link the login from their own menu under MyEd BC. The login page now offers sign-in with the BC Services Card.
Getting your account in SD43
Accounts are created by the school from the email address you gave at registration. You can't self-register. Each parent or guardian can have their own account on their own email, which means two-household families get two independent logins. Students receive a separate student login of their own. If you never received login details, ask your school office to check the email on file and issue the account.
The 90-day password trap
Passwords expire every 90 days. In the province's own words: "For security and privacy reasons, passwords expire every 90 days." Report cards land roughly quarterly, so the expiry has usually just passed when you try to read one. Being locked out at report card time is normal, not a sign something is broken. Log in, set the new password when prompted and keep it somewhere safe. The password cannot contain names or birthdates and is case sensitive.
Where report cards are
Published report cards appear on the PAGES tab under Published Reports, on the school's reporting schedule rather than instantly. They open as a PDF in a new window, so if clicking does nothing, your pop-up blocker is the usual culprit. Use a computer rather than a phone for first logins, password resets and report card downloads; the portal behaves better in a desktop browser.
What SD43 families can see
In SD43 the family portal shows daily and class-by-class attendance, published report cards, current schedules, transcripts and graduation progress, provincial assessment results and the contact details the school has on file. Checking that address and emergency-contact information each September is worth thirty seconds. One caution: a live assignment-by-assignment gradebook is not guaranteed. What families see is configured district by district and teacher by teacher, so treat attendance and published report cards as the reliable parts.
Locked out, disabled, or missing information
Every fix runs through your child's school office, not the district and not the province. Repeated failed logins disable the account; the school re-enables it and issues a temporary password. A child missing from your account, wrong contacts and absent report cards are school-office questions too. Call or email the office and name the problem; this is routine for them, especially in September and at report card time.
